Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has strongly condemned the undeclared curfew and unprovoked firing on the peaceful protesters by Indian armed forces in South Kashmir District, Shopian.
Sheikh Yaqoob said that opening indiscriminate fire on peaceful protesters and arresting Hurriyat leaders were the tactics adopted by the Indian government to muzzle the voice of Kashmiri people.
He said, “The terror unleashed by Indian troopers to quell the voices of people unveils the real face of Indian democracy in Kashmir. “The way criminal activities of Indian forces are escalating in Kashmir is alarming for us”, he said.
The PL Chairman said that the freedom movement of Kashmir had reached to that particular end wherefrom it would be impossible for Indian government to pull it back. “It is important for India to revoke the black laws and demilitarize the Jammu Kashmir,” he added.
