Mukhtar Waza Urges Pakistan, India To Focus On Kashmir

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a congregation at the Jamia Masjid after Friday prayers at Kanilwon Bejbehara South Kashmir said that the people of Kashmir had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the righteous cause of right to self-determination and would take the on-going liberation movement to its logical end. Waza reiterated that sacrifices of Kashmiri people would not go waste. He appealed the people of Jammu and Kashmir to further promote unity in their ranks for securing their inalienable right to self-determination.
Waza strongly condemns continued human rights violations committed by Indian troops and alleged that New Delhi could not suppress the ongoing freedom movement by using brute force against the people of Kashmir. He added that Kashmir cannot be solved by a miracle, but the leaderships in India and Pakistan will have to come up with concrete initiatives, and the international community will have to mount pressure on both countries in view of the seriousness of the issue. Waza stated that outstanding issues between India and Pakistan will continue to hang fire so long as the Kashmir issue is pending. Mukhtar Waza appeals international community to break its silence on Kashmir to come forward for a resolution of the Kashmir issue so that the struggle of the Kashmiris bears fruit. He said that the amicable solution to the Kashmir dispute was a must for bringing permanent peace in South Asia.
He called upon the world community and international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to halt massive human rights violations in Kashmir and resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris.
