Police on Friday detained Senior APHC Leader and Jammu
Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in Islamabad and lodged him
in Police station Sherbagh.
Party spokesman, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi condemned police action
and said that Waza Shab was scheduled to lead a peaceful protest rally from Rehat-Dedi
Masjid Islamabad to Lal-chowk after Friday prayers.
Earlier, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza denounced the nocturnal raids in
valley particularly in South Kashmir and demanded early release of the arrested
youths before Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said that Indian armed forces have lashed reign of terror
among the youths and is trying to crush the ongoing freedom movement by using
brutal tact’s; however the forces will never success in crushing the movement.
Expressing satisfaction over the observance of Youme-Qudas
day all across the Kashmir valley, Waza pledged to continue the ongoing freedom
struggle despite all odds. He said that martyrs center staged Kashmir issue and
people of the Kashmir including the pro-freedom leadership have to shoulder the
responsibility of taking the ongoing freedom struggle to its logical
conclusion. He said that youths of the Kashmiri nation are determined towards
the ongoing freedom struggle and were laying down their lives while braving the
Indian army’s oppression.
Waza said that during from past over a week, Police had
detained dozens of innocent had have sent behind the bars which displays the
sheer frustration of Indian armed forces. He appealed international human
rights watch dogs including Amnesty International to send a group for knowing
the ground realities of the prevailing Kashmir situation. He said that
international community and human rights organizations must play its role in bringing human rights
violations perpetrated by Indian armed forces at halt.
He also urged United Nations to help the oppressed people of
Kashmir and Gaza in achieving the birth right and appealed them to play its
role in resolving the Kashmir conflict according whishes and aspirations of
Kashmiri people.
