APHC Leader Mukhtar Waza put under house arrest ahead of UNO March

APHC Leader and Acting chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza placed under house by occupation authorities at Kadipora Islamabad early in the morning ahead of their planned march to Martyrs Graveyard at Ziyarat Reshi Sahab Islamabad to pay homage to the 13 July 1931 martyrs. “After paying tributes to Martyrs, Waza has planned to march towards UN office as announced by APHC chairman Mirwaiz Mohammad Umer Farooq where they have to submit a memorandum,” Waza supplemented.
Mukhtar Waza said that India would not be able to muzzle the Kashmiris’ just voice for their right to self-determination through use of brute force. Vowing to continue the freedom struggle till its logical conclusion, at all costs, he said that the people of Jammu Kashmir would carry on their liberation movement till we achieve freedom. Waza maintained that India’s claim of zero tolerance against the rights abuses proved a hoax in the backdrop of fake encounters, illegal arrests and targeted killing of innocent Kashmiris over the past few months.
Waza appeals to the international community to impress upon India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir.
Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir Peoples League strongly condemns the house arrest of Mukhtar Waza and said that it is undemocratic and autocratic.
