Senior Hurriyat Conference Leader and Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the people of Kashmir will observe October 27 as black day as the Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir on the day in 1947. Mukhtar Waza while addressing a public gathering at Anchidura district Anantnag, has asked people to observe October 27 as a black day and march towards the office of United Nations at Sonawar. He maintained that Indian forces entered into Kashmir on October 27 in 1947 to enchain Kashmiris in shackles of slavery so this day should be observed as a black day.
Mukhtar Waza stated that former Indian Prime Minister, Nehru’s words were still ringing and echoing when he said, “We had given our pledge to the people of Kashmir and subsequently to the United Nations; we stood by it and we stand by it today. Let the people of Kashmir decide.”
Mukhtar Waza has appealed to the international community to impress upon India to settle the Kashmir dispute according to the aspiration of Kashmiri people.
