In an extraordinary meeting of JKPL at its central office in Anantnag District presided over by Senior Hurriyat Leader and acting chairman Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. A threadbare discussion was held in the meeting about recent development vis-à-vis Kashmir. Senior APHC Leader said that India has forcibly occupied Jammu Kashmir and the people of Kashmir are struggling for securing right to self-determination.
Mukhtar Waza said that Indian police during last two decades had martyred more than one hundred thousand Kashmiris and over 10,000 had been disappeared in custody. He said that the people of the Kashmir had rendered unprecedented and countless sacrifices for Kashmir cause and they would take the liberation movement to its logical end. The sacrifices of Kashmiri people would not go waste as the day is not far when they would get rid of Indian rulers, he added.
Waza also strongly denounced the continued acts of Indian state terrorism across the Kashmir Valley and added that the world rights groups had not been allowed to visit Kashmir for the last 20 years, which had provided free hand to the occupation forces to kill the innocent Kashmiris.
Mukhtar Waza further stressed that Kashmir is a political dispute which can be resolved through dialogue process involving Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri people. Waza maintained that New Delhi should withdraw its troops from Kashmir, repeal black laws, remove bunkers and release Kashmiri detainees to create an atmosphere for resolving the dispute.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Abid Syed Bhat, Imtiyaz Ahmad Misger, Shabir Ahmad Baba, Manzoor Ahmad and dozens of PL workers and activists.
