A seminar was held today at Srinagar to paid rich tributes to the prominent Kashmiri jurist, Professor Abdul Ahad Wani on his martyrdom anniversary.
The speakers in a seminar including liberation leaders, intellectuals and professionals unanimously resolved to work on a common strategy to find ways to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
On the occasion the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that it was responsibility of the Kashmiri people to safeguard the sacrifices of the martyrs and to accomplish their mission. He said that any attempt to malign the liberation movement would not be allowed to succeed.
Other speakers included Zafar Ahmed Shah, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Dr Rehman Rahi, Zareef Ahmed Zareef, Maulana Showkat Ahmed Kang, Nazir Ahmed Ronga, Muhammad Amin Malla, Maulana Showkat Ahmed Shah, Dr G Q Alaqaband, Dr Sheikh Iqbal, Dr Javed Iqbal, Professor Noor Ahmed Baba, Dr Zafar Mehdi and Perveena Ahangar
Meanwhile Senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza pays homage to the well-known Kashmiri jurist, Professor Abdul Ahad Wani on his martyrdom anniversary and added that the services of Wani for the Kashmiris’ liberation movement would always be remembered.
He said that hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri people had laid down their lives for the Kashmir cause and these sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste.
Waza urged the international community to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations so that permanent peace could be established in South Asia.
