EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD AT APHC OFFICE SRINAGAR

An important executive meeting was held at All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Head office Rajbagh Srinagar today chaired by its Acting Chairman Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat and attended by Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Moulana Abdullah Tari, Bilal Lone and others. In a meeting a threadbare discussion was discussed about recent political situation of Kashmir.

JKPL demands withdrawal of AFSPA, release of political prisoners

In continuation to door to door campaign Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Sunday visited Kulgam of district Islamabad. While addressing an impressive gathering Mukhtar Waza said repealing of 'black laws', release of political prisoners, and accountability for human rights violations and 'demilitarization' of Kashmir were necessary to solve the impasse.

Waza said the solution to Kashmir issue would not be achieved unless India and Pakistan addressed the grievances and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. '' Kashmir is a political issue, not a religious one, and it should be solved politically, taking into confidence the sentiment of 'freedom' being expressed by the people of the valley,'' he observed.

Waza has urged the Amnesty International to help in release of over 1500 Kashmiris including Hurriyat leaders, who have been arrested during the present uprising in Kashmir.

Kashmir settlement possible through dialogue: JKPL

In continuation to door to door campaign Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza accompanied with party workers and activists visited various parts of district Anantnag. While addressing an impressive gathering at Breng, Anantnag Mukhtar Waza has emphasized that Kashmir is a political dispute which can be resolved through dialogue process involving Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri people. Waza maintained that New Delhi should withdraw its troops from Kashmir, repeal black laws, remove bunkers and release Kashmiri detainees to create an atmosphere for resolving the dispute.

Waza strongly condemns the on-going spree of mass-arrest of youth on allegations of participation in indigenous movement. Whereas hundreds of youth have already been detained under the similar allegations. By these unwarranted arrests, common people are being intimidated and are as such facing a worst kind of uncertainty regarding their children. Waza demanded an immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiri leaders and activists.

JKPL pays glowing tributes to Mufti Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League has convened get-together at its head office Rajbagh, Srinagar in which Peoples League pays glowing tributes to Mufti Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar of Lolab on his 11th martyrdom anniversary. Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar was a prime founder of Peoples League and was arrested by the Indian police and remain under detention for continuously 06 years. Mufti Najar was killed outside TADA court Srinagar by Indian Task Force in 2000.

While speaking in the meeting senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be taken to its logical conclusion, despite all odds. Waza said that Kashmiri martyrs centre-staged Kashmir dispute at the international level. Waza emphasizes that India has converted the entire south Asian region into a dangerous zone due to its state terrorism and added that the people of Kashmir were being victimized for demanding their inalienable right to self–determination. He maintained that no power on earth could deter them from continuing their liberation struggle.

The meeting was attended by Mohd Ashraf Sofi, Gh. Qadir Rah, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Imtiyaz Reshi, Shabir Ahmad, Abid Syed Bhat and other PL activists.

Efforts for resolving Kashmir dispute will continue: JKPL

In an extra-ordinary meeting of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference at its district office Islamabad presided over by party Vice Chairman and Executive Member APHC, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza accompanied by party General secretary Mohammad Ashraf Ved, Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohd Maqbool, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Imtiyaz, Nazir Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad Baba, Abid Syed and other senior peoples league leaders and activists. In the meeting a threadbare discussion was held on current situation vis-à-vis Kashmir dispute. The PL leaders unanimously decided to carry forward the efforts for resolving the Kashmir dispute through peaceful means.

Mukhtar Waza reiterated that the Kashmir dispute could only be settled through talks among Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri leadership. Waza maintained that pro-liberation leadership and the people of Kashmir with their unity and political vision would defeat the conspiracies of anti-Kashmir, anti-movement and anti-people elements. He deplored that whenever there was some progress towards the resolution of the dispute through peaceful means, certain individuals and agencies got unnerved and resorted to such dastardly acts to thwart the process.

Waza also flays the government for detaining political prisoners in “inhumane” conditions in several jails in and outside the state.

Waza urges the Amnesty International to impress upon India to release the illegally detained profreedom leaders and activists, who have been arrested during the present uprising in Kashmir.

Shahid-ul-Islam bereaved

The Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has extended condolences to senior leader and executive member Awami Action Committee, advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, on the demise of his aunt.

Shahid’s paternal aunt, Mrs Peer Shamsuddin Maqdoomi, passed away on Wednesday at her residence Brakpora Islamabad.
Waza today visited the deceased’s residence offered Fateh Khawani and have prayed for the peace of the departed soul.

JKPL pays glowing homage to Ghulam Muhammad Bulla

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, pays glowing tributes to Ghulam Muhammad Bulla of Sopore on his 36th martyrdom anniversary, has said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs will not be allowed to go waste and their mission will be accomplished at all costs.

Ghulam Muhammad Bulla was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on this day in 1975 for leading a protest rally against Indra-Abdullah Accord in Sopore.

Peoples League today held an important meeting in memory of Ghulam Muhammad Bulla at its Central office in Rajbagh Srinagar with Acting Chairman and APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in chair.

Speaking in the meeting, Mukhtar Waza said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level. He reiterated the pledge to continue the liberation struggle, despite all odds. The APHC leader urged India to eschew its stubbornness and take steps to settle the lingering dispute. He said that New Delhi had failed to suppress the voice of Kashmiris by force since 1947. He demanded withdrawal of Indian troops, release of political prisoners and annulment of draconian laws. "Kashmir is the core issue between the two nuclear powers of the region. If the issue is not included in the agenda and there is no positive headway for its resolution, the talks are bound to fail," he added.

The seminar was attended by Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Shakeel-ul Rehman, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Ghulam Hassan Dar, Abid Syed, Afaaq Ahmad, Farooq Ahmed Dar and others.

JKPL welcomes resumption of Indo-Pak Dialogue

Senior Hurriyat Leader and vice chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of All Partis Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza welcomes the resumption of stalled Indo-Pak dialogue process. "The Kashmiri people know that the resumption of the composite dialogue process between Pakistan and India is crucial for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. Any effort to derail the dialogue process goes against the interests of Kashmiri people. We hope that the true representatives of the Kashmiri people will also be associated with the dialogue process,".
Mukhtar Waza while addressing a public gathering after friday prayers at Durgund Anantnag has expressed serious concern over continued illegal detentions of pro-freedom leaders and activists who have been detained for participating in the peaceful struggle to achieve their right to self-determination. He said that the people of Kashmir had not been allowed to express their aspirations freely. “The occupation authorities were intimidating the people of territory through unlawful detentions and invocation of draconian laws,” he added.
He termed the detentions of pro-freedom leaders and activists as unjustified, undemocratic and a blatant violation of the basic human rights.
Waza has appealed the Amnesty International (AI) and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to take cognisance of the situation in kashmir and put pressure on India to stop gross human rights abuses.

Peoples League pays rich tributes to Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League convened an extraordinary meeting at its party headquarter Srinagar chaired by senior Hurriyat leader and acting chairman of PL Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with other senior Peoples League leaders which includes Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Gh. Nabi Waseem. Imtiyaz Reshi, Afaaq Ahmad, Raouf Kashmiri, Umar Khalid, Tahir Hussain and Ali Mohammad. In a meeting a threadbare discussion was held on present political scenario of Kashmir. Peoples League paid rich tributes to prominent liberation leader Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat on his 28th Matyrdoom anniversary. Peoples League maintained that Kashmiris have rendered countess sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and reiterated that the mission of this great martyr along with other martyrs will be taken to the logical end, come what may. Peoples League hailed the services of Maqbool Bhat, which he had rendered for the Kashmir cause. Maqbool Bhat was a glowing star in Kashmir’s political history and would remain alive in the hearts of Kashmiris for his steadfastness, sincerity and commitment to the freedom struggle. Peoples League had always favoured meaningful and result-oriented dialogue for resolving the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris aspirations. The participants of the meeting were of the view that the amicable settlement of the dispute through meaningful dialogue was must for permanent peace in South Asia.
