INTERNATIONAL HUMAN BODIES APPEALED TO TAKE NOTICE OF HR VIOLATIONS IN KASHMIR: PEOPLES LEAGUE

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement has appealed to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. Waza said that the acts of Indian state terrorism perpetrated against innocent Kashmiris were aimed at silencing their just voice for right to self-determination. Waza urged the United Nations and its member states to impress upon India to stop rights violations in Kashmir. “The use of brute force by the troops cannot deter Kashmiris resolve to continue struggle against Indian bondage,” he maintained. Recalling Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s pledge to show zero tolerance against human rights violation, he said that the troops who were committing the crimes needed to be brought to justice immediately.

Waza also condemns the teargas shelling and firing by Indian police on peaceful protestors injuring dozens of youth including Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh of Awantabawn Soura who is serious injured and battling for his life at Amritsar Hospital, Waza described it a worst kind of Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile Chairman JKPL Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has strongly denounced the killing of an innocent Kashmiri youth, Wamiq Farooq Wani, 15, by Indian police in Srinagar.
