PEOPLES LEAGUE expresses serious concern over gross HR violations

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Acting chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza expresses serious concern over the stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops. Mukhtar Waza condemns the recent killing of two innocent youths Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Qalampora Pulwama and Wamik Farooq of Rainawari by Indian troops. Waza reiterated that the troops are killing the Kashmiri people without any rhyme or reason since 1947. “The Indian troops simply want to gag the popular voice for freedom in Kashmir. For this purpose, they have been committing worst human rights violations. But they have totally failed to prevent the people of Kashmir from pursuing their struggle for right of self-determination,” Waza said.

The senior Hurriyat leader said that Indian troops has again resorted to state sponsored terrorism to kill innocent youths and these incidents have once again unmasked the real face of Indian democracy. He maintained that India has left no room for peaceful protests. “Whether it is a religious or political gathering, India considers it as a political threat to its presence in Kashmir,” Waza said.

Waza also condemns the teargas shelling and firing by Indian police on peaceful protestors injuring dozens of youth in the heart of city, Srinagar and described it a worst kind of Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile a special condolence meeting was held at Peoples League head-office which was chaired by Mukhtar Ahmad Waza accompanied by Gh. Qadir Rah, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Gulzar Ahmad, Afaaq Ahmad Bhat, Umer Sharief, Hilal Ahmad Akhoon, Shabir Ahmad, Abid Hussain and Raouf Kashmiri. Jammu Kashmir Peoples League extends heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and prays let the departed soul rest in peace.
