Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza were put under house arrest at his residence, Anantnag today. Waza was to lead a protest demonstration after Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid Anantnag.
Waza strongly condemns the verdict of the Indian court and awarding of death penalty to three persons including two Kashmiris in a false case. “The death penalty to the two Kashmiris is not only harsh but carries an element of vengeance,“ he added. Waza said that the verdict was a grave injustice meted to the Kashmiris, detained in a fake case. “The Indian judiciary has a biased approach towards the Kashmiris and serves Indian interests. India cannot muzzle Kashmiris’ just voice forcefully,” he maintained.
APHC leader appeals to the international community to impress upon India to save the lives of the Kashmiris against whom Indian court pronounced death penalty.
