Says India has no moral right to conduct Independence Day
functions in Kashmir
Srinagar, August 14, 2014
Senior APHC Leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League
Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Thursday greeted Government and people of
Pakistan on their independence day and thanked them for their unflinching
support to the Kashmir cause.
Waza appealed Pakistani people and the government to
continue moral, diplomatic and political support to the ongoing freedom
struggle of naïve Kashmiris for which Kashmiris have renedered uncounted sacrifices
Slamming India, its armed forces and puppet authorities for
lashing a reign of terror among the civilian population on the eve of 15th
of August, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that India has no moral or legal right to
celebrate their Independence Day in illegally occupied state of Jammu and
Kashmir.
Waza said that state was never part of British colonized India
but was gifted to Sardar Gulab Singh for his faithfulness which he showed in
Punjab, hence state Jammu and Kashmir has not achieved the freedom which is
under the illegal occupation of India.
“We are fighting Indian illegal occupation of the state
peacefully through our ongoing freedom struggle. Our movement has been dually
recognized by the international community especially by United Nations which
has passed several resolutions for its peaceful resolution, so India has no
right to celebrate their independence Day functions inside military camps.”
Said Waza
Terming the celebration of Independence Day, illegal Waza
said that India was deceiving international community. “What India has not done
to deceive International community, elections are being held, independence days
are being celebrated just to show the world that Kashmiris have accepted the
Indian rule, however the observance of these days as Black days by naïve
Kashmiris have exposed the Indian shameful polices.” He added.
Waza condemned the harassment of pedestrians on the name
frisking by the Indian armed forces and said that for celebrating their
Independence Day in illegally occupied Kashmir, Indian forces have lashed a
reign of terror.
He also demanded unconditional release of detainees lashing
in Indian jails and urged Amnesty International to take a strong note of the
human rights violations.
