Mukhtar Waza denounced Rajnath Singh’s statement, says war
isn’t the solution
“Kashmir is political issue, needs political resolution”
Srinagar, August 29:
Senior APHC leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples league
Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Friday denounced the statement of Union Home
Minister Rajnath Singh in which he (Rajnath Singh) had said that he had
directed his armed forces to continue firing on Line of Control (LOC).
Accompanied by senior party leaders including Imtiyaz Ahmad
Reshi and Er Fayaz Ahmad, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing, Friday prayers
in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir, said that the way Narendra Modi government
is dealing with Kashmir issue will definitely have serious repercussions. He
said that from cancelling of sectary level talks with Pakistan and now
directing forces to continue firing on Line of Control can prove disastrous for
whole of the south Asian region.
“Narendra Modi government has now picked up hard-line for
Kashmir and Kashmiri which is evident from the fact that they ignored peaceful
means by calling off the talks and now instead of trying to stop the LOC
skirmish is fueling it by encouraging its forces to continue firing, which will
surely sink the boat of whole South Asian.” Warned Mukhtar Ahmad Waza
He said that dialogue was the only way to move forward and hence
both the countries must adopt it for strengthening the bilateral relations. “India
and Pakistan can only prosper if they succeed in strengthening the bilateral
relations which is only possible after the peaceful resolution of Kashmir
conflict.” said, Waza.
Waza said that
Kashmir is a political problem and must be resolved through tripartite talks as
bilateral talks have failed to yield results in the past. “War is not the
solution, war can only bring disaster, so the ultimate solution of the problems
lies in the dialogue process, hence both the countries along with genuine
leadership of oppressed Kashmiri people must sit and negotiate for resolving
the Kashmir dispute according to whishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people who
have scarified their lives from past over six decades.” Mukhtar Ahmad Waza told
gathering.
He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir will never allow
the countries to confront each other in the state which has witness bloodshed
and grave human rights violations perpetrated by Indian armed forces from past
over 23 years, as the confrontation of nuclear armed countries was taking the
precious lives of Kashmiri people on both sides of Line of Control (LOC).
Stressing on the unity of pro-freedom leadership and
Kashmiri nation, Waza said, “At a time when new Delhi has once again started
using military approach towards Kashmir issue, unity of pro-freedom leadership
and nation is the need of the hour to confront the Indian anti-freedom movement
polices and strategies.” Adding, Kashmiri nation is ready to face Indian
government’s extremism.
He appealed people to stay away from so-called main stream
politicians who are helping India in strengthening its illegal occupation over
Kashmir.
