Senior Hurriyat Leader and acting chairman Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the Kashmir dispute can be resolved through tripartite talks amongst Pakistan, India and the genuine Kashmiri leadership.Mukhtar Waza said that the Jammu Kashmir Peoples League always maintained that the dispute over Kashmir could not be settled through bilateral efforts.“Kashmir is a political problem and it needs a political solution in accordance with its historical perspective and aspirations of the Kashmiris.” He said that the bilateral efforts had not succeeded in resolving the Kashmir dispute for the last six decades and there was no option but to settle it through tripartite talks.
Waza said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute is a potential threat to the peace and stability in south Asian region.
Condemning the worst kind of human rights violations in Kashmir by the Indian troops, Waza said that such tactics could not prevent the people of Kashmir from continuing their struggle for right to self-determination. He said that liberation struggle would be taken to its logical conclusion, despite all odds.
