Peoples League launches signature campaign to seek US role
Jammu Kashmir Peoples League starts signature campaign in south Kashmir Anantnag district ahead of the US President, Barack Obama’s forthcoming visit and to seek Washington’s intervention in resolving the lingering dispute.
Senior Hurriyat Conference Leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza headed fronts the signature campaign said that large number of people participated in the signature campaign launched from yesterday in Islamabad, Deyalgam, Nanil and Sarnal areas.
Mukhtar Waza said that the document with signatures would be forwarded in the form of a memorandum to the US Embassy in New Delhi.
Waza while expresses satisfaction over the mass participation of the people in its signature campaign vowed to gear up efforts on internal and external fronts in order to seek support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
Appealing the Kashmiri people particularly academicians, intellectuals and students to extend support to the campaign, Waza said that the memos would be forwarded through emails to the US President and embassies of all the countries. Waza has called upon the US President, Barack Obama, to impress upon India to give the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.
