JKPL welcomes Amnesty’s report on Kashmir
Senior APHC Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has welcomed the report of Amnesty International highlighting the human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. Waza in a statement said that hundreds of innocent Kashmiri youth and children had been detained under the black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
Waza appealed the Amnesty International to impress upon India to stop state terrorism, revoke the draconian laws in Kashmir and give the Kashmiris’ their inalienable right to self-determination.
Demanding that the United Nations should send a fact-finding mission to Kashmir to probe rights violations, Peoples League suggested for setting up of a war crime tribunal in this regard.
