Senior APHC Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute is a potential threat to the peace and stability in south Asian region.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing a public gathering in a door to door campaign at Pahalgam district Anantnag said that India was using brute tactics against the innocent Kashmiri people to suppress their just struggle for right to self-determination and to linger its illegal occupation over the Jammu Kashmir. He emphasized that Kashmir is a political dispute, which can be resolved through dialogue process involving Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri people.
He deplored that on one hand the Government of India was talking about the settlement of the longstanding dispute and on the other, Indian troops were killing the innocent Kashmiri youth in Kashmir.
Waza appealed the world powers to impress upon India to revoke the draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), withdraw its troops and release all the illegally detained pro-liberation leaders and activists.
