While addressing in a meeting Mukhtar Waza appeals to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. Waza said that the acts of Indian state terrorism perpetrated against innocent Kashmiris were aimed at silencing their just voice for right to self-determination. Waza urges the United Nations and its member states to impress upon India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir. “The use of brute force by the troops cannot deter Kashmiris resolve to continue struggle against Indian bondage,” he maintained. Waza said that, on one side, the occupation authorities were claiming to take steps for improving the situation, but on the other, Kashmiri youth were being arrested and tortured in the interrogation centers without any justification. Waza urges India to lay-bare political will and address the 63 years old Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. “The international community stands committed to the people of Kashmir and their right to self-determination and various prime ministers of India have promised at different times to give the people of Kashmir this right,” he added.
While concluding the meeting Peoples League said that India were using every tactic to suppress the just voice of Kashmiri people they had been raising for securing right to self-determination but it would never succeed in its nefarious designs. The people of Jammu and Kashmir had rendered matchless sacrifices for the Kashmir liberation and they would take the ongoing liberation movement to its logical end despite all odds, PL pledged.
