Waza stresses meaningful talks for Kashmir solution

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Acting Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing a public gathering after Friday parishioners at Akhura Mattan Jamia Masjid Anantnag district expresses serious concern over the stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops. “The Indian troops simply want to gag the popular voice for freedom in Kashmir. For this purpose, they have been committing worst human right violations. But they have totally failed to prevent the people of Kashmir from pursuing their struggle for right of self-determination,” he added.

Mukhtar Waza said our political, administrative, social and other human rights have been trampled by India for the past 63 years. Arrests, rapes, custodial disappearances, third degree torture are routine. Thousands of our youth have been martyred for raising voice demanding their political rights. “The international community and the Indian civil society must come forward to stop the abuses here and support and help in the resolution of the issue”, he said. Waza called upon the world community and international human rights organizations to take steps against such inhuman actions of the occupation authorities in Kashmir.

While welcoming Foreign Ministers level talks between Pakistan and India, Waza said that the time has come to initiate meaningful and result-oriented dialogue so that a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute could be found. Waza Maintained that both the countries should talk on the Kashmir dispute because all other problems including water, Cir Creek and Siachen would automatically be resolved after solution of the Kashmir dispute.
