PEACE IN ASIA, K-SOLUTION MUST: Peoples League

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing parishioners at the Mattan Jamia Masjid today at Hutmur Mattan, Anantnag emphasized that perpetual peace in South Asia is only possible when Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the Kashmiris aspirations. He said that Kashmir was a political dispute and could be resolved through peaceful political means. Waza reiterated that Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and India should show serious attitude towards the resolution of the dispute. He pointed out that the world community was aware of the fact that Kashmir was the main cause of tension in the region and was exerting pressure on India to peacefully resolve the longstanding dispute. APHC leader said that India should release illegally detained all pro-freedom leaders and activists, repeal all draconian laws and create a conducive environment for the dialogue process for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Sheikh Yaqoob pays tributes to Dr Farooq Haider.

Chairman Jammu Kashmir peoples league sheikh Mohammad yaqoob condoles the sad demise of prominent Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Dr Farooq Haider, who recently passed away in Rawalpindi.
The APHC leader, Sheikh Yaqoob expresses profound grief and sorrow over the death of Dr Farooq Haider.
Sheikh Yaqoob while Paying glowing tributes to the deceased for his services for the Kashmir cause, he described his demise as a great loss to the ongoing freedom movement and added that Kashmiri people would never forget the selfless contribution of Dr Farooq Haider to Kashmiris’ liberation struggle.

Peoples League pays tributes to Dr. Farooq Hyder

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League convened a condolence meeting at its party headquarter Srinagar chaired by senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with party’s General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar and Gh. Nabi Waseem. In a condolence meeting Peoples League paid rich tributes to prominent liberation leader Dr. Farooq Hyder, who breathed his last yesterday on Monday at Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Peoples League prayed for the peace to departed soul and strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Peoples League hailed the services of Dr. Hyder, which he had rendered for the Kashmir cause. Dr. Hyder sahib was a glowing star in Kashmir’s political history and would remain alive in the hearts of Kashmiris for his steadfastness, sincerity and commitment to the freedom struggle.

It is worth to mention that Dr. Farooq Hyder was founder of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front.

Kashmir solution only way for peace in SA: Sheikh Yaqoob

Islamabad, October 03 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has said that the settlement of the Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and Kashmiris’ genuine leadership is the only way for peace in the region.
Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in a statement in Islamabad said, Kashmir is the main hurdle in cordial relations between Pakistan and India and its amicable and peaceful solution can ensure peace in the world, particularly in South Asia.
The JKPL Chairman welcomed the decision of China for issuing stapled visas to Kashmiris on a separate sheet of paper. “It is good that they are issuing separate visas to Kashmiris, which indicated that China did not consider Jammu and Kashmir as a part of India,” he said adding that other countries should also follow the suit. Sheikh Yaqoob said that China had always supported the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and their struggle for right to self-determination.
The JKPL Chairman also expressed gratitude to the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) for appointing a special envoy on Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon the world community to put pressure on India to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination so that the long-standing dispute could be resolved.
On the other hand, the JKPL leader, Ghulam Nabi Waseem while addressing a public gathering at Brehama in Kupwara urged India to give up its rigid stance and aggressive polices on Kashmir and come to the negotiation table for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the people of Kashmir had rendered countless sacrifices for achieving the right to self-determination and they would continue their liberation struggle till its logical conclusion.

SOLVE KASHMIR DISPUTE PEACEFULLY: Peoples League


Jammu Kashmir Peoples League today on Monday convened an immediate meeting at its party headquarters Rajbagh Srinagar which was chaired by partys Acting Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. In the meeting a frayed discussion was held on the current situation. The main objective of our organization is peaceful and meaningful dialogue between two countries and the Kashmiri people. This is possible only when statesman of both the countries will conduce towards it and make the programme fruitful while addressing in a quorum of senior Peoples league leaders which include by party’s General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Vaid, Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar and Gh. Nabi Waseem. 
  Mukhtar Waza reiterated that past history reveals many examples in which disputes have been resolved in peaceful manner. In a point reference of dispute between Germany and France. If we practice this smooth and fruitful ways for clearing the dispute of Jammu & Kashmir the results would be bright and both the countries will progress. If they instead of investing money on defense would use the same for the betterment of humanity and not for preparing materials for mass destruction. This will lead us to the development and prosperity.
 Mukhtar Waza maintained that for the sake of humanity and to respect human values: world powers are urged upon to intervene into the peaceful resolution of burning worldly issues like Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan.
 After meeting a delegation led by senior Peoples League leader Gh. Nabi Waseem visited the residence of Jabeena Akhter D/O Nazir Ahmad Bhat resident of Haripora Kupwara, who was critically injured in a firing by Indian security forces and lost his life after struggling for three days on Ist October 2009 at local hospital. Gh. Nabi Waseem offered heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and said that despite India`s tall claims about the biggest democracy of the world contrary to it there in intolerant forces deputed in Kashmir have been left trigger free to render planned genocide in Kashmir and suppress the ongoing freedom struggle.

PEOPLES LEAGUE OBSERVED YOM-E-TASEES

An extra ordinary meeting of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League was convened at party headquarters which was chaired by Executive Member of APHC and partys Acting Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. In the meeting a threadbare discussion was held on the current situation. It is pertinent to mention that Jammu Kashmir Peoples league has been launched in 3rd October 1974 to give vent to the resistance movement by adopting the mode of political activism in terms of non-violence to press the demand of right to self determination in accordance with the UN resolutions which are the genesis of bonafide demand of common stock of people living in all the fours of Jammu Kashmir spread over an area of 2,22,236 Sq. Kms along with some expatriates. Peoples League from its day of inception is struggling to protect the cultural ethos of Kashmiris for which they identified world over for the peculiarity and party has always raised voice against moral degradation moreover prepare youth for cultural crossfire to remain agile, vigilant and meticulous. Peoples League believes in the fact that will allow the winds of modernization to enter the home of Kashmiris but not at the cost of their existence and identity. Mukhtar Waza while addressing the meeting said that Peoples League always stressed for developing scientific political approach for the ongoing resistance movement and the struggle will continue till to the cherished goal. Waza said that peoples league believe that meaningful talks only can help resolve the dispute and are ready to take the process to its logical end and warns that any delay in resolution of the Kashmir dispute could have serious repercussions. “If India and Pakistan keep talking only with each other, they can’t achieve any breakthrough. Kashmiris have borne the brunt of animosity between them. They are the principal party to the dispute and the two countries have to talk to them to achieve a lasting and amicable solution,” waza said.

But our struggle is the struggle for our rights”, adding “Kashmir movement does not belong to any particular individual. This movement belongs to the people of Jammu Kashmir and represents their wishes and aspirations.” He maintained that Martyrs are the precious assests of out nation (Kashmiris) who are our real heroes and their mission shall be carry forward till to the logical end come what may.
It is worth to mention that the meeting was attended by party’s General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Sofi, Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Gh. Nabi Waseem and other senior Peoples league leaders.

Resolution of Kashmir only way for peace: PEOPLES LEAGUE

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in a statement said that South Asian region is hostage to the unresolved Kashmir dispute and its peaceful resolution through uninterrupted dialogue between India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir is the only way forward.Yaqoob has also welcomed the decision of China for issuing stamped visas to Kashmiris on a separate sheet of paper and gratitude to the Organization of Islamic Conference for appointing special envoy on Jammu and Kashmir.China”s move of issuing separate hand written visas on loose sheets of paper is a welcome move. Other countries should also follow suit. It is good that they are making separate visas for Kashmiris, which indicated that China did not consider Jammu and Kashmir as a part of India, Sheikh Yaqoob added. APHC leader said that China had always supported the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and their struggle for right to self-determination. “The top leadership of China has always acknowledged Kashmir as an important player in Asia and particularly in South Asia”, he added. He called upon the world community to put pressure on India for giving right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir so that the long-standing dispute could be resolved and permanent peace could be established in South Asia. Meanwhile senior peoples league leader Gh. Nabi Waseem while addressing to a public gathering at central jamia masjid Brehama Kupwara said that India should give up its rigid and military might polices on Kashmir and should come to the negotiation table for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could come in the region.He said that the people of Kashmir had rendered countless sacrifices for achieving right to self-determination and they would continue their liberation struggle till its logical conclusion.
