Jammu Kashmir Peoples League on Saturday conveyed an extraordinary meeting of its central council members and senior leaders in Srinagar at party headquarters under the chairmanship of Party Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Darzi, Haji Qadoos, Abdul Hameed Illahie, Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Mir Bashir, Gowher Khan, Ghulam Moh-u-din Nengroo, Mohd Hafiz Wani and Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi.  
During the meeting members deliberated upon the party affairs and prevailing political scenario and held a threadbare discussion on Kashmir conflict and its resolution.
In the meeting, most importantly members decided to hold a series of program on the 7th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz. They also deliberated upon the telephonic speech of Party Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob and decided that the all the programs in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will organized under the chairmanship of Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob.

Senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie Thursday condemned Rajouri incident in which some miscreants burned a flag on which ‘Kalima Tayyaba’ was written.
In an issued statement, Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie slammed authorities for using excessive force on Muslims who are protesting against the incident from past three days and said that instead of punishing the miscreants, authorities were punishing Muslims.
Attie said that miscreants on behest of communal forces are trying to provoke Muslims in the Chenab region which is shameful and at the same time unacceptable.
Kalima Tayyiba is the basis of Islam and no Muslim in the world will tolerate its disrepute. Every Muslim is ready to die for its honor,” Mohd Yaseen said in the statement,  
Accusing government of giving a free hand to the communal forces in Jammu to harass the Muslims, he said that since the new government is the state has taken over, the anti-Islamic activities are being promoted by the authorities under a well planned strategy particularly in Chenab region which exposes the claims of India being a secular country.
Yaseen also condemned imposition of curfew, restrictions and shutting down of cellular services including internet in the Rajouri district and said that people mostly Muslims who have shown resentment against the incident are being harassed and victimized. “This is the worst kind of state terrorism being unleashed on Muslims in the state,” he added.
He expressed sympathy with the Muslims of the region and assured full support to them. He asked international human rights organizations and others to take a serious note of the prevailing situation.
Meanwhile, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League and senior AJK-APHC leader Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob also condemned the incident and said that disrespect to Islam has exposed India internationally.
“First they harassed minorities in New Delhi and other states of India and now they have started implementing the same agenda in Muslim majority state under which Muslims having majority are being victimized,” Yaqoob said.

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie along with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders was today arrested near DC office in Srinagar when they were leading a protest rally and moving towards Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab.
Party spokesman Abdul Hamid Illahie, while condemning the police action said that the senior Hurriyat including Peoples League Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie, Molvi Bashir Ahmad of Mass Movement, Imtiyaz Hyder of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Muslim League, Mohd Ramzan Khan of Peoples Freedom League, Abdul Ahad Para of Muslim league started a protest march from Shaheed Gung this morning to pay tributes to July 13 martyrs at Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab . Protest march was stopped by heavy contingent of police near DC office Srinagar and all the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders were arrested and detained in Police station Shaheed Gung, he said.
“Detention of Pro-freedom leaders who were scheduled to pay tributes to Kashmir martyrs of July 13 at Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab exposes the dictatorial face of the authorities. Such curbs and brutal tact’s will not deter Pro-freedom leadership from securing their goal and mission of martyrs of July 13 will be accomplished at any cost,” Spokesman said.
Castigated authorities for their hypocritical approach, he said, “Tax payers money is being spend to facilitate the visit of mainstream politicians to Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab who are working against the mission of martyrs and helping India to strength its illegal occupation over state but real leadership who represent the aspirations and collective sentiment of this oppressed nation are being deprived of the same right.”
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob also condemned detention of Pro-freedom leadership and said that the suppression and oppression can’t muzzle the ongoing freedom struggle.
“This day has the significance of marking the beginning of the ongoing freedom struggle. On this day the Kashmiris for the first time raised their voice against the atrocities perpetrated by the Dogra rulers on them and 22 persons offered supreme sacrifices of their life. We have to accomplish the mission of these brave martyrs at any cost,” Yaqoob said, urging people to remain committed towards the movement and foil anti-Kashmir and anti-freedom movement designs of internal and external elements.

In a joint statement issued to press both the leaders said, “This day has the significance of marking the beginning of the ongoing freedom struggle. On this day the Kashmiris for the first time raised their voice against the atrocities perpetrated by the Dogra rulers on them and 22 persons offered supreme sacrifices of their life.”

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob and Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie on Monday condemned the fresh arrest spree and demanded unconditional release of youths detained in Islamabad, Srinagar, Safakadal and other areas of Kashmir.
Both the leaders in joint statement issued here denounced detention of youths in every hook and corner of Kashmir from past days during nocturnal raids.
They said that security forces have lashed a reign of terror among Kashmiri youth and pro-freedom political activists. “Innocent youth are being detained to crush the pro-freedom sentiment among them,” they said while condemning misbehavior meted out to senior pro-freedom leaders in custody.

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples league today expressed grief over the sad demise of mother of Islamic Student League Chairman Shakeel Ahmad Bakshi.
Yaqoob paid rich tributes to deceased lady and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by party Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie visited the residence of pro-freedom leaders Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi and martyr Shariq Ahmad Bakhshi and expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of their mother.
He was accompanied by party leaders including Haji Qadoos, Ghulam Nabi Darzi, Reyaz Ahmad Mir and Abdul Hameed Illhie.
Attie shab addressed the gathering and expressed sympathy with the family. He also paid rich tributes to martyr Shariq Ahmad Bakhshi.
He said that the deceased lady was pious and her contributions can’t be ignored.

He said that under the same repressive strategy several baseless FIR’s were stands registered against vice chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie and today was forced to attend courts in Budgam and Srinagar in a single day. Authorities have booked Attie shab for leading a protest demonstration against hanging of Dr Afzal Guru and Mohd Maqbool Bhat.

Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples league Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie on Friday while addressing gathering in Howoora area of Budgam highlighted the significance of Holy month of Ramadan and urged people to fallow Quran for better life and Akirah (the hereafter).
Demanding a peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict according to United Nation resolutions and wishes of Kashmiris people, Attie said that the big giants of South Aisa-India and Pakistan on verge to fight a fresh war which could prove disastrous for the whole south Asia.

He said that both the countries have fought three wars over the issue and pushing the same issue into ice-box can collapse their relations. Attie said that without resolving Kashmir conflict, India and Pakistan can’t smooth their relations and cooperation.

He said that Kashmir was never a border dispute between Indo-pak countries but was an issue of ‘right to self determination’ and future pertaining to 2.5 million Kashmiris. Saying India can’t crush the ongoing freedom movement through its armed forces, Attie said that India has accepted international commitments and United Nation resolutions.  
He said that for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue, India needs to shun its stagnant Kashmir policy as the peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict is imperative for the peace and prosperity of whole South Asian region.
Meanwhile, Mohd Yaseen Attie also expressed sympathy with the agitating students of Kashmir University and condemned the use of brute force by the authorities on them who are protesting against their colleague.

He said that communal forces including Hindu fringe elements like RSS is hell bent to repeat 1947 in Jammu and wants to disrupt the Hindu-Muslim brotherhood in Jammu region by forcibly evicting them from their homes and lands.
Expressing sympathies with Jammu Muslims, Attaie said that Peoples league will not allow communal forces to oppress Muslims in Jammu and disrupt the prevailing communal harmony.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob on Wednesday condemned attacks on telecom outlets in Kashmir and termed it handiwork of Indian intelligence agencies.
“India and its intelligence agencies are trying to cut off Kashmiris from the rest of the world by widening the telecommunication system by attacking them, so that they can sensor the grave human rights violations perpetrated by Indian forces. But its stark reality that India has illegally occupied the Jammu and Kashmir and for holding the illegal occupation its forces are oppressing Kashmiris and suppressing their genuine demand of right to self determination,” Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob said.
He said that Kashmiris will never allow India and its intelligence agencies to succeed and will resist any such move which is anti-freedom movement. “In this age, Telecommunication is the backbone of our freedom system, through it we are easily conveying our sufferings to the rest of the world so any such move amid to close down telecommunication will be resisted at any cost,” he added.
Expressing sympathies with those who became the victims of these Indian sponsored attacks, Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob thanked cellular services providers who restored their service in various areas of Kashmir today.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples league on Wednesday conveyed an extraordinary meet in Srinagar to discuss party affairs and current prevailing political scenario. Meeting was attended party central council members and senior party leaders.
In the meeting, central council members and party leaders paid glowing tributes martyrs of Kashmir particularly to Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Shaheed S Hamid, Ghulam Mohmmad Bullah, Prof. Waheed, Khalid-ul-Rehman and Nasir Mukhtiyar. They hailed the decision of appointing Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob as Chairman and Mohd Yaseen Attaie as Vice chairman of the party. Members expressed happiness over the decision and assured full support to chairman and vice chairman. Guidelines were issued for strengthening the party and make it more vibrant on political front.
During the meeting it was also disclosed that party has constituted a committee which will deliberate with other pro-freedom leaders and forums keeping in view the decision of the party in which it was decided the peoples league with continue its political activities with the Hurriyat Conference led by veteran leader Syed Ali Shah Geealni.
Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie in his presidential address stated that people league since from its beginning has played a vital role in the ongoing freedom struggle and laid down precious sacrifices. He stressed upon party leaders to work hard with honesty for revamping the glorious past of the party.
Appealing youth to join the party, he said that youth has to play an important role in the ongoing freedom struggle. Mohd Yaseen Attaie said that every member of the party posses’ right to held accountable any office bearer any time, however members themselves should also remain ready for accountability.  
He said that self interested people have not only damaged the credibility of Hurriyat conference but have also many time affected the party. Attaie said that Kashmiris have laid down precious and unparallel sacrifices and party stands committed that the mission of martyrs will be taken to its logical conclusion.

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob on Monday restructured party and elected Mohmmad Yaseen Attaie as vice chairman.
An extra-ordinary meeting of the party was held at the central office of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, which was attended by all the central and district members.
Party Chairman Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob addressed the members telephonically and stated that Peoples League has attained highest position among Pro-freedom groups due to the priceless sacrifices which the party has rendered for the Kashmir freedom struggle. Rich tributes were paid to Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz, S Hamid and other martyrs in the meeting.
Restructuring the executive council of Peoples League, Yaqoob elected Mohd Yaseen Attaie as vice chairman of the party while as senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Darzi was elected as general secretary, chief spokesman Abdul Hamid Illahie, Chief coordinator Haji Qadoos and Reyaz Ahmad Mir was appointed as Chief organizer as the party. Mirvaiz-led Hurriyat conference failed to represent aspirations of Kashmiris: Sheikh Yaqoob

Srinagar, May 14: Announcing its unconditional support to veteran Pro-Freedom leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob Thursday said that Mirvaiz-led Hurriyat Conference failed to represent the aspirations of oppressed Kashmiri people.
“Jammu Kashmir Peoples League which held deliberations over the prevailing political scenario of Kashmir in past several weeks has now decided to support veteran Pro-Freedom leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s forum for its pro-people and pro-freedom policies,” Sheikh Yaqoob said in an issued statement.
He said that during the course of deliberations it was found that only Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s forum is respecting and fallowing the 1993 constitution for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.
“Distressed with the way Mirvaiz-led Hurriyat forum worked in past few years and sidelined the constitution, we earlier quitted the forum and now the party has decided to support Hurriyat (G),” he said, adding it is the reason that dozens of constituents from last three years have quit the group.
Yaqoob said that all those persons who still sneak into the cozy corridors of Mirviaz-Group are cheaters and will be given no space in the party fold. “One man calming to be representatives of JKPL are actually among those who have sold the sacrifices and mission of martyrs and are on the parole of Indian intelligence agencies,” he said.
