Inclusion of Kashmiris vital to meaningful talks: JKPL

Senior APHC Leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has said that the inclusion of Kashmiris is vital to the meaningful dialogue for resolving the Kashmir dispute.

Mukhtar Waza while addressing Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid in Muqam, Anantnag, today, pointed out that Kashmir was one of the oldest unresolved disputes of the world and its solution was not possible without taking the Kashmiri people on board. He said that the dispute could only be settled through tripartite talks including Pakistan, India and the real Kashmiri leadership.

He urged India to revoke draconian laws, release all illegally detained pro-freedom leaders and activists and stop gross human rights violations in Kashmir to create conducive environment for talks on Kashmir.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference Executive Council in Srinagar

All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders in a meeting of their Executive Council in Srinagar, today, presided over by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and was attended among others by Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Bilal Ghani Lone said that the Indian interlocutors were further complicating the issues related to Jammu and Kashmir and were trying to divide the Kashmiri people on sectarian basis. The leaders said that the decision of the suspension of Maulana Abbas Ansari from the Hurriyat membership was taken by the leaders collectively as he had met the interlocutors in violation of the APHC decision.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference Executive Meeting

An important meeting of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Executive Members was held at its central office Rajbagh Srinagar today chaired by its chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Umer Farooq and attended by Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Bilal Gani Lone, Abdullah Tarri and Aga Syed Hasan Budgami other Executive Members. In the meeting a threadbare discussion was discussed about recent political situation of Kashmir.

The participants paid rich tributes to the Hurriyat leaders for their commitment to the Kashmir cause and their determination to continue the liberation struggle. They expressed the confidence that the day was not far off when sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would bear fruit and they would get rid of Indian bondage.

Waza urges inclusion of Kashmiri leadership in dialogue process

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Vice Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing a Juma congregation at Bejbehara Jamia Mosque, today said that the solution of the Kashmir dispute can no longer be delayed or hijacked by political maneuvering, urges for inclusion of Kashmiri leadership in the dialogue process to address the long-standing issue.

The APHC Leader said that the Kashmir dispute was the main obstacle in the cordial relations between Pakistan and India. He added that durable peace in the region was impossible without an amicable settlement of the dispute.

Waza said that both the countries should talk on the Kashmir dispute because all other problems including water, Cir Creek and Siachen would automatically be resolved after solution of the Kashmir dispute.

Waza has appealed to the world community particularly the US to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Peoples League pays glowing homage to S. HAMID WANI

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference summons an important meeting at its party headquarters Rajbagh Srinagar in which Peoples League pays glowing tributes to Shaheed-e-Inkilaab (Martyr of Revolution) S. Hamid Wani: attended by Senior Peoples League Leaders, which include, Mohammad Ashraf Sofi, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Imtiyaz Reshi, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Gh Ahmad Mir and dozens of PL Activists. In the meeting rich tributes were paid to the martyr who is ascribed to be amongst the frontline Pro-freedom leaders of 70’s and was one of the founders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) - which represents the aspiration of Kashmiris politically, diplomatically and socially.
While speaking in the colloquium Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level. He reiterated the pledge to continue the liberation struggle, despite all odds.
Waza urges India to show seriousness in resolving the Kashmir dispute issue and added that Kashmir dispute was not a border dispute between India and Pakistan but a question of the future of Kashmiri people. He reiterated that without the inclusion of Kashmiris’ genuine leadership, the dialogue process between Pakistan and India would remain meaningless, as the people of Kashmir were the main party in the dispute. Waza said that the easiest solution available to resolve the 63-year-old dispute was implementation of the resolutions passed by the United Nations. “As long as the Kashmir dispute is not resolved, neither would political uncertainty end in the South Asia nor can the people of the region realize the dream of prosperity and development,” he maintained.
It is worth to mention that S Hamid Wani was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on April 18, 1998 in Soura Srinagar; Peoples League said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be taken to its logical conclusion.

PAYS GREAT TRIBUTES TO SHOWKAT AHMAD SHAH

A High Level delegation of Peoples League, led by Senior Hurriyat Conference Leader and Acting Chairman of PL, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf, Imtiyaz Risi, Ab. Ahad Qadri, Haji Qadoos, Fayaz Ahmad, Afaaq Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad today visited the residence of slain Jamiat-AhleHadees chief Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah at LalBazar here and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.

While addressing to a condolence meeting at Shah's residence Mukhtar Waza paid glowing tributes to Shah for his political, religious, social and educational services. "Moulana Showkat Shah was a man of great character and thinking who served the cause of Islam for his entire life," he said. “We condemn the gruesome murder of this great preacher and scholar in the strongest possible words," he said.

Waza reiterated that the best way to pay tributes to the late Moulana would be to nourish his religious and other social welfare mission.

"The overall condition of Muslims is such that we are against each other. If a single Muslim is killed on one pretext or another it's the death of humanity. We should get united to find ways to curb such acts)," he said.

Waza urged Islamic parties to play their role in dealing with this "dangerous situation."

PEOPLES LEAGUE condemns killing of Molvi Showkat Ahmad Shah

Senior Leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and vice chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly denouncing the killing of prominent religious leader and President of Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith, Maulana Showkat Ahmad Shah, termed it as an act of terrorism meant to harm the unity of the people of Kashmir and such killings are unacceptable. Waza said that the martyred leader had earned a place in the heart of his people for his commitment and steadfastness in the Kashmir struggle. He said that the people of Kashmir had lost a great son who was needed most at the present critical juncture. “The perpetrators of this crime need to be brought to justice, he added.

Kashmir solution a must for Pak-India cordial relations

An important executive meeting was held at All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Head office Rajbagh Srinagar today chaired by its Chairman Mirwaiz Dr. Mohammad Umer Farooq and attended by other Executive Members including Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi, Moulani Masroor Abbas Ansari, Moulana Abdullah Tari, Bilal Lone and Mohammad Musadiq Adil. In a meeting a threadbare discussion was discussed about recent political situation of Kashmir.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference has reiterated that the resolution of Kashmir dispute is inevitable to bring about positive changes in Pak-India relationship. They said that the Kashmiri leadership needed to be associated with the talk’s process of the two neighbouring countries to make it result-oriented. The leaders strongly refuted the claim of New Delhi-appointed interlocutors that the APHC had presented a proposal to them for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Kashmir dispute is bone of contention between Pakistan and India: JKPL

Senior Leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and vice chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that only a peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute can restore trust between India and Pakistan.

Waza while addressing a gathering at Islamabad today has emphasized that friendly relations between Pakistan and India are necessary for development in the South Asian region and peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute is a pre-requisite for it.

Waza said that settlement of the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris aspirations was a must for cordial relations between Pakistan and India as the dispute was a bone of contention between the two countries.

Waza pointed out that immediate demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir could be an effective confidence building measure between the two nuclear neighbours. He asked India to take solid steps for resolving the dispute over Kashmir so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
