Peoples League conveys extraordinary meet in Srinagar

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League on Saturday conveyed an extraordinary meeting of its central council members and senior leaders in Srinagar at party headquarters under the chairmanship of Party Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting include General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Darzi, Haji Qadoos, Abdul Hameed Illahie, Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Mir Bashir, Gowher Khan, Ghulam Moh-u-din Nengroo, Mohd Hafiz Wani and Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi.  
During the meeting members deliberated upon the party affairs and prevailing political scenario and held a threadbare discussion on Kashmir conflict and its resolution.
In the meeting, most importantly members decided to hold a series of program on the 7th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz. They also deliberated upon the telephonic speech of Party Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob and decided that the all the programs in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will organized under the chairmanship of Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob.

Senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie Thursday condemned Rajouri incident in which some miscreants burned a flag on which ‘Kalima Tayyaba’ was written.
In an issued statement, Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie slammed authorities for using excessive force on Muslims who are protesting against the incident from past three days and said that instead of punishing the miscreants, authorities were punishing Muslims.
Attie said that miscreants on behest of communal forces are trying to provoke Muslims in the Chenab region which is shameful and at the same time unacceptable.
Kalima Tayyiba is the basis of Islam and no Muslim in the world will tolerate its disrepute. Every Muslim is ready to die for its honor,” Mohd Yaseen said in the statement,  
Accusing government of giving a free hand to the communal forces in Jammu to harass the Muslims, he said that since the new government is the state has taken over, the anti-Islamic activities are being promoted by the authorities under a well planned strategy particularly in Chenab region which exposes the claims of India being a secular country.
Yaseen also condemned imposition of curfew, restrictions and shutting down of cellular services including internet in the Rajouri district and said that people mostly Muslims who have shown resentment against the incident are being harassed and victimized. “This is the worst kind of state terrorism being unleashed on Muslims in the state,” he added.
He expressed sympathy with the Muslims of the region and assured full support to them. He asked international human rights organizations and others to take a serious note of the prevailing situation.
Meanwhile, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League and senior AJK-APHC leader Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob also condemned the incident and said that disrespect to Islam has exposed India internationally.
“First they harassed minorities in New Delhi and other states of India and now they have started implementing the same agenda in Muslim majority state under which Muslims having majority are being victimized,” Yaqoob said.

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie along with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders was today arrested near DC office in Srinagar when they were leading a protest rally and moving towards Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab.
Party spokesman Abdul Hamid Illahie, while condemning the police action said that the senior Hurriyat including Peoples League Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie, Molvi Bashir Ahmad of Mass Movement, Imtiyaz Hyder of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Muslim League, Mohd Ramzan Khan of Peoples Freedom League, Abdul Ahad Para of Muslim league started a protest march from Shaheed Gung this morning to pay tributes to July 13 martyrs at Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab . Protest march was stopped by heavy contingent of police near DC office Srinagar and all the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders were arrested and detained in Police station Shaheed Gung, he said.
“Detention of Pro-freedom leaders who were scheduled to pay tributes to Kashmir martyrs of July 13 at Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab exposes the dictatorial face of the authorities. Such curbs and brutal tact’s will not deter Pro-freedom leadership from securing their goal and mission of martyrs of July 13 will be accomplished at any cost,” Spokesman said.
Castigated authorities for their hypocritical approach, he said, “Tax payers money is being spend to facilitate the visit of mainstream politicians to Martyrs Graveyard Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab who are working against the mission of martyrs and helping India to strength its illegal occupation over state but real leadership who represent the aspirations and collective sentiment of this oppressed nation are being deprived of the same right.”
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob also condemned detention of Pro-freedom leadership and said that the suppression and oppression can’t muzzle the ongoing freedom struggle.
“This day has the significance of marking the beginning of the ongoing freedom struggle. On this day the Kashmiris for the first time raised their voice against the atrocities perpetrated by the Dogra rulers on them and 22 persons offered supreme sacrifices of their life. We have to accomplish the mission of these brave martyrs at any cost,” Yaqoob said, urging people to remain committed towards the movement and foil anti-Kashmir and anti-freedom movement designs of internal and external elements.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohmmad Yaqoob and vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie today paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, who voiced against the atrocities of the Dogra rule and laid down their lives.
In a joint statement issued to press both the leaders said, “This day has the significance of marking the beginning of the ongoing freedom struggle. On this day the Kashmiris for the first time raised their voice against the atrocities perpetrated by the Dogra rulers on them and 22 persons offered supreme sacrifices of their life.”

Senior Pro-freedom leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Sheikh Mohd Yaqoob and Vice Chairman Mohd Yaseen Attie on Monday condemned the fresh arrest spree and demanded unconditional release of youths detained in Islamabad, Srinagar, Safakadal and other areas of Kashmir.
Both the leaders in joint statement issued here denounced detention of youths in every hook and corner of Kashmir from past days during nocturnal raids.
They said that security forces have lashed a reign of terror among Kashmiri youth and pro-freedom political activists. “Innocent youth are being detained to crush the pro-freedom sentiment among them,” they said while condemning misbehavior meted out to senior pro-freedom leaders in custody.
