Peoples League pays tributes to Mufti Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar on his 10th Martyrdom Anniversary

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League has convened one day seminar at its central office Kursoo Rajbagh, Srinagar. Peoples League paid gleaming tributes to Mufti Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar of Darepora Lolab Kupwara on his 10th martyrdom anniversary, who was a prime founder of Peoples League. Gh. Mohi-u-din Najar was arrested by the Indian police and remain under detention for continuously 06 years. Mufti Najar was killed outside TADA court Srinagar by Indian Task Force in 2000. While speaking on the occasion senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be taken to its logical conclusion, despite all odds. Waza said that Kashmiri martyrs centre-staged Kashmir dispute at the international level. Waza emphasizes that India has converted the entire south Asian region into a dangerous zone due to its state terrorism and added that the people of Kashmir were being victimized for demanding their inalienable right to self–determination. He maintained that no power on earth could deter them from continuing their liberation struggle.
Waza stresses that Kashmir is a political dispute which could be resolved through peaceful negotiations involving Pakistan, India and genuine leadership of the Kashmiri people. He said that Kashmiris liberation struggle was genuine and based on the principles of justice. Waza urged India to honour the commitment made by its leaders with the international community to give the Kashmiris the right to decide their fate themselves.
Waza said that peace in South Asia depends on the issue of Kashmir. He said that people of Kashmir would like that both India & Pakistan should progress in close relationship but they can not ignore the people of Kashmir. They should start three party dialogue, and three parties to the conflict should be involved in dialogue. He said that without Kashmiri any dialogue with Pakistan will not bring any positive results.
Waza said that the Peoples League had always supported peace efforts between India and Pakistan and pinned hope that the upcoming round of talks between both the countries would bear results in terms of settlement of the dispute.
The seminar was attended by Gh. Qadir Rah, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Raouf Kashmiri, Afaaq Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad and hundreds of PL activists.

Peoples League tempts focus of International HR organizations

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League convened an extraordinary meeting at its party headquarter Srinagar chaired by senior Hurriyat leader and acting chairman of PL Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with other senior Peoples League leaders which includes Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Gh. Nabi Waseem. Imtiyaz Reshi, Afaaq Ahmad, Raouf Kashmiri, Umar Khalid, Tahir Hussain, Syed Bhat and Ali Mohammad. In a meeting a threadbare discussion was held on present political scenario of Kashmir. While addressing in a meeting Waza appeals to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. Waza said that the acts of Indian state terrorism perpetrated against innocent Kashmiris were aimed at silencing their just voice for right to self-determination. Waza urges the United Nations and its member states to impress upon India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir. “The use of brute force by the troops cannot deter Kashmiris resolve to continue struggle against Indian bondage,” he maintained. Waza said that, on one side, the occupation authorities were claiming to take steps for improving the situation, but on the other, Kashmiri youth were being arrested and tortured in the interrogation centers without any justification. Waza urges India to lay-bare political will and address the 63 years old Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. “The international community stands committed to the people of Kashmir and their right to self-determination and various prime ministers of India have promised at different times to give the people of Kashmir this right,” he added.

Speaking in a meeting Gh. Qadir Rah said, Kashmir is an internationally accepted disputed territory with which the future of millions of people is associated. Referring to the talks on Kashmir, Rah observed that such a process was suitable when troops were totally withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir, oppression put to an end and efforts made for the implementation of the right to self-determination of the people.

The participants of the meeting paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri people for carrying forward the ongoing liberation movement amid suppression by the government of India and the puppet administration of the Kashmir. They pointed out that Indian state terrorism had increased the number of widows, orphans and disabled persons in Kashmir. They said that dialogue between India & Pakistan will not bring any positive results without the serious talk on the solution of Kashmir issue. They said that these dialogues are just a show and these dialogues will neither bring the peace in Kashmir nor the friendship between two countries can be stabilized without the core issue of Kashmir. They said that killing of innocent civilians, rape and torture of civilians must stop, and the leadership of Kashmir should be given right to travel on both sides of Kashmir. They said that until the people of Kashmir are not given right to decide according to UN resolutions, there will be no lasting peace in the area.

Peoples League observe one day seminar in view of 35th Martyrdom Anniversary of Gh. Mohammad Bulla

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League has convened one day seminar at its central office Kursoo Rajbagh, Srinagar. Peoples League paid glowing tributes to Ghulam Muhammad Bulla of Sopore on his 35th martyrdom anniversary. Ghulam Muhammad Bulla was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on February 15, 1975, for leading a protest rally against Indra-Abdullah Accord in Sopore. Jammu Kashmir Peoples League said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be taken to its logical conclusion. While speaking in the colloquium senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that Kashmiri martyrs centre-staged Kashmir dispute at the international level. He reiterated the pledge to continue the liberation struggle, despite all odds.

Welcoming the resumption of dialogue between Indiaand Pakistan, Waza said the talks would prove "fruitless" if the Kashmirissue was not included in the agenda. "Kashmir is the core issue between the two nuclear powers of the region. If the issue is not included in the agenda and there is no positive headway for its resolution, the talks are bound to fail," Waza alleged.

Waza urged India to “eschew its stubbornness” and include the dispute over Kashmir in the forthcoming talks between the foreign secretaries of Pakistanand India. “Right from 1947,India has been trying to suppress the voice of Kashmiris by force. But neither they succeeded in the past, nor they would in future,” he added. Waza warned that New Delhiwas pushing Kashmiris towards violent revolution. “Off late instead of making the atmosphere conducive for talks, troops have let loose a reign of terror across the State. If immediate measures are not taken by the government ofIndia, we can see resurgence of violence in Kashmir. It will be more violent and aggressive than we have seen in the past,” he said. Reiterating his demand for demilitarization, Waza said, “Immediate and complete cessation of military and Para-military actions against the civilian population in Jammu Kashmir, withdrawal of military presence from the towns and villages, dismantling of bunkers, watchtowers and barricades, release of political prisoners and annulment of draconian laws are must for the protection of life and property of people.”

Mukhtar Waza pointed out that the international human rights organization had been calling upon India from time to time to stop rights abuses in the territory but these pleas had been falling on deaf ears.

The seminar was attended by Mohd Ashraf Vaid, Ghulam Qadir Rah, Gh. Nabi Darzi, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Shakeel-ul Rehman, Gh. Mohd Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Gh. Hassan Dar, Abid Syed, Afaaq Ahmad and dozens of PL activists.

Peoples League Pays Glowing Tributes to Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat


Jammu Kashmir Peoples League convened an extraordinary meeting at its party headquarter Srinagar chaired by senior Hurriyat leader and acting chairman of PL Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with other senior Peoples League leaders which includes Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Gh. Nabi Waseem. Imtiyaz Reshi, Afaaq Ahmad, Raouf Kashmiri, Umar Khalid, Tahir Hussain and Ali Mohammad. In a meeting a threadbare discussion was held on present political scenario of Kashmir. Peoples League paid rich tributes to prominent liberation leader Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat. Peoples League maintained that Kashmiris have rendered countess sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and reiterated that the mission of this great martyr along with other martyrs will be taken to the logical end, come what may. Peoples League hailed the services of Maqbool Bhat, which he had rendered for the Kashmir cause. Maqbool Bhat was a glowing star in Kashmir’s political history and would remain alive in the hearts of Kashmiris for his steadfastness, sincerity and commitment to the freedom struggle. Peoples League had always favoured meaningful and result-oriented dialogue for resolving the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris aspirations. The participants of the meeting were of the view that the amicable settlement of the dispute through meaningful dialogue was must for permanent peace in South Asia.

INDIA CANNOT REPRESS ONGOING FREEDOM STRUGGLE … PEOPLES LEAGUE

Senior Hurriyat Leader and acting chairman JKPL Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has deplored that Indian troops have unleashed a reign of terror in every nook and corner of Jammu Kashmir to suppress Kashmiris freedom movement. He reiterated that the use of brute force could not deter the Kashmiris resolve to get freedom from Indian bondage. Indian authorities managed to stop the Kashmiris from assembling at UN Office Sonawar, it was a moral victory for the people of Kashmir as entire state machinery remained engaged to prevent the protest sit in, he said. He maintained that the people of Kashmir would not bow before the occupation authorities and would continue their struggle till its logical conclusion.

APHC leader appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to help stop massive human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir and put pressure on New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris aspirations.“The peace and stability in South Asia can not prevail till the lingering dispute between the nuclear rivals is resolved,” he maintained.

INTERNATIONAL HUMAN BODIES APPEALED TO TAKE NOTICE OF HR VIOLATIONS IN KASHMIR: PEOPLES LEAGUE

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement has appealed to the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir. Waza said that the acts of Indian state terrorism perpetrated against innocent Kashmiris were aimed at silencing their just voice for right to self-determination. Waza urged the United Nations and its member states to impress upon India to stop rights violations in Kashmir. “The use of brute force by the troops cannot deter Kashmiris resolve to continue struggle against Indian bondage,” he maintained. Recalling Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s pledge to show zero tolerance against human rights violation, he said that the troops who were committing the crimes needed to be brought to justice immediately.

Waza also condemns the teargas shelling and firing by Indian police on peaceful protestors injuring dozens of youth including Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh of Awantabawn Soura who is serious injured and battling for his life at Amritsar Hospital, Waza described it a worst kind of Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile Chairman JKPL Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has strongly denounced the killing of an innocent Kashmiri youth, Wamiq Farooq Wani, 15, by Indian police in Srinagar.

PEOPLES LEAGUE expresses serious concern over gross HR violations

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Acting chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza expresses serious concern over the stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops. Mukhtar Waza condemns the recent killing of two innocent youths Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Qalampora Pulwama and Wamik Farooq of Rainawari by Indian troops. Waza reiterated that the troops are killing the Kashmiri people without any rhyme or reason since 1947. “The Indian troops simply want to gag the popular voice for freedom in Kashmir. For this purpose, they have been committing worst human rights violations. But they have totally failed to prevent the people of Kashmir from pursuing their struggle for right of self-determination,” Waza said.

The senior Hurriyat leader said that Indian troops has again resorted to state sponsored terrorism to kill innocent youths and these incidents have once again unmasked the real face of Indian democracy. He maintained that India has left no room for peaceful protests. “Whether it is a religious or political gathering, India considers it as a political threat to its presence in Kashmir,” Waza said.

Waza also condemns the teargas shelling and firing by Indian police on peaceful protestors injuring dozens of youth in the heart of city, Srinagar and described it a worst kind of Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile a special condolence meeting was held at Peoples League head-office which was chaired by Mukhtar Ahmad Waza accompanied by Gh. Qadir Rah, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Gulzar Ahmad, Afaaq Ahmad Bhat, Umer Sharief, Hilal Ahmad Akhoon, Shabir Ahmad, Abid Hussain and Raouf Kashmiri. Jammu Kashmir Peoples League extends heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and prays let the departed soul rest in peace.

JKPL called upon the world community and international human rights organizations to take steps against such inhuman actions of the occupation authorities in Kashmir. PL also urged India to give up its unrealistic approach towards the Kashmir dispute and resolve it in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
