PEOPLES LEAGUE VISIT SHOWKAT SHAH’S RESIDENCE

PEOPLES LEAGUE

PAYS GREAT TRIBUTES TO SHOWKAT AHMAD SHAH

A High Level delegation of Peoples League, led by Senior Hurriyat Conference Leader and Acting Chairman of PL, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf, Imtiyaz Risi, Ab. Ahad Qadri, Haji Qadoos, Fayaz Ahmad, Afaaq Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad today visited the residence of slain Jamiat-AhleHadees chief Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah at LalBazar here and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.

While addressing to a condolence meeting at Shah's residence Mukhtar Waza paid glowing tributes to Shah for his political, religious, social and educational services. "Moulana Showkat Shah was a man of great character and thinking who served the cause of Islam for his entire life," he said. “We condemn the gruesome murder of this great preacher and scholar in the strongest possible words," he said.

Waza reiterated that the best way to pay tributes to the late Moulana would be to nourish his religious and other social welfare mission.

"The overall condition of Muslims is such that we are against each other. If a single Muslim is killed on one pretext or another it's the death of humanity. We should get united to find ways to curb such acts)," he said.

Waza urged Islamic parties to play their role in dealing with this "dangerous situation."
