Unity Among The Pro-Freedom Leadership As Imperative Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in a statement has strongly denounced the illegal detention of pro-freedom leaders & activists and demanded immediate release of Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mohammad Yousuf Mir and Muhammad Saleem Nunnaji. Sheikh Yaqoob reiterated that India has been suppressing this political movement by the use of force that has created hundreds of graveyards in the state where lakhs of martyrs lie buried, and added that there is hardly a jail or torture chamber in India where Kashmiris have not endured years of unspeakable pain and suffering, and the process of killing and jailing pro-movement people continues to this day, Yaqoob said. Sheikh Yaqoob urged unity among the separatist leadership as imperative and need of an hour, the Kashmir was a political issue that could be resolved politically only through tripartite talks between the kashmiri leadership, India and Pakistan. He also insisted the sympathizers and activists of Peoples League to make this peaceful political resistance organization an effective platform to which common Kashmiris will reckon with so that the dream of Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz (Martyr of determination) is fulfilled. Peace in the subcontinent cannot be restored unless and until the core issue of Kashmir imbroglio is not addressed seriously because it is only peace which can guarantee for the prosperity and development in the region, Yaqoob said. He appealed common masses of people to solicit their sincere co-operation and timely suggestions so that Jammu Kashmir Peoples League will emerge as a full-flagged pro-freedom democratic political organization, Yaqoob said.
While condemning the molestation and murder of two women in Shopian Peoples League chairman said that India has deployed more than 7 lakh of its forces in Kashmir to silence the voice of Kashmiris, who are resisting for their just cause (Freedom). “We will never succumb to any sort of oppression and will continue to struggle for the right to self determination”, Yaqoob said. He demanded an independent probe should be done and the culprits should be booked for committing such heinous crime.
