India Create Hurdle In Resolving Kashmir Issue: Chairman Peoples League ; Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in a statement has said that India’s stubbornness on Kashmir is the main impediment to settle the long-standing dispute. Sheikh Yaqoob reiterated that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of Kashmiris is vital to peace and stability in South Asia. Yaqoob maintained that the relations between Pakistan and India could only be normalized through the amicable solution of the long-standing dispute. Yaqoob said that India had adopted a dual policy as, on the one hand, it showed readiness for dialogue on he Kashmir dispute, while, on the other, it was trying to quell the ongoing freedom struggle in Kashmir through use of brute force.

Sheikh Yaqoob also condemns the gross human rights violation in Kashmir, and called on HR bodies to help the people of Kashmir on this critical situation. He said that India is just playing game and until India plays game, the peace will be a dream. He said that killing of innocent civilians, rape, torture and extra judicial killings by military forces must stop in Kashmir. He said that Kashmir issue can be resolved only if India accepts the UN resolutions and let the people of Kashmir decide their future according to UN resolutions.

Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob called for UN investigation for war crimes against Indian army in Kashmir. He said that India has committed war crimes in Kashmir, and these crimes must be investigated by World body. He said that killings are still going on and only way we can stop these killing is to raise the issue in UN.
