JKPL appeals to world powers to play role in Kashmir Resolution

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Vice Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing a huge public gathering after Friday prayers in Nambal Anantnag appeals to the world powers including P5 and G8, international community, United Nations, OIC and world human rights Groups to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmir’s aspiration.

Waza said Kashmir was the “root of all conflicts” between India and Pakistan. “Unless Kashmir is not resolved no peace and progress is achieved in South Asia,”

Waza reiterated that people of Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling for the right to self-determination promised to them through 18 resolutions adopted by the United Nations. He maintained that India, despite its commitments before the international community, had been denying this right to people of occupied Kashmir. He added that it was the moral, political and religious obligations of the world powers to impress upon India to allow Kashmir’s to exercise their right to self-determination.

Waza appeals to the civilized world powers to play role and impress upon India to settle the dispute by granting right to self-determination to the people through referendum under the auspices of the UN.
