Senior APHC leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Friday urged SAARC nations to play effective role in resolving the Kashmir conflict which has a nuclear flash point in the whole south Asian region besides primary reason of confrontation between the two nuclear armed countries-India and Pakistan.
Addressing Friday congregations in Islamabad town, Waza said that the SAARC is responsible to resolve the regional issues of the region for ensuring its peace and stability besides economic prosperity, so without the peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict peace, stability and economic prosperity can’t be guaranteed in the South Asian region.

He said that the SAARC countries can’t obtain their sole objective of improving the living conditions of their people nor can promote regional cooperation for the other prime objectives till they resolve the decades old Kashmir conflict which has not only endangered the peace in the region but its existence too. He said that peace in South Asia would remain elusive unless Kashmir dispute was resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of people of the state. He emphasized that without resolving the long standing dispute the dream of SAARC countries could not be materialized, therefore to make it a dynamic and vibrant forum, conflict resolutions was highly indispensable.
He urged SAARC countries to play effective role in Kashmir resolution by pressurizing Indo-Pak countries to resume the tripartite talks for the long-lasting and peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute. He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have rendered uncounted sacrifices for the final resolution of Kashmir issue and will continue to offer till the mission of martyrs reaches to its logical conclusion.
He urged naïve Kashmiris to remain determined towards the freedom movement and thwart the anti-freedom movement policies and strategies of India and its armed forces. Waza said that the intelligentsia must also raise their voice against the Indian military oppression and must play role for bringing an end to it.
