Mukhtar Ahmad Waza paid rich tributes to Bijbehara martyrs

Srinagar, October 22: Executive member of Hurriyat Conference (M) and Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples league, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Bijbehara 1993 massacre.
While visiting Mazari-e- Shudha Bijberaha , Waza along with Senior Pro-Freedom leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah, Javid Ahmad Mir, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, paid glowing tributes to the martyrs who fell to the bullet of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Bijbehara on October 22, 1993 when they were peacefully demonstrating against the siege of Hazratbal shrine by Indian Army.
Party leaders’ imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Eng. Fayaz Ahmad, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Zulfi Masood were too accompanying the party chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza.



Addressing the gathering he said that Kashmiri martyrs sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause and the sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste.
“The sacrifices of 1993 and even after that are assets for the movement and can never go waste. Who sacrificed their lives for the bright future of Kashmiri nation will serve as beacon light for the rest of us.” Waza said, adding Kashmir martyrs have center staged the Kashmir issue and because of the sacrifices of martyrs world on humanitarian grounds wants to resolve the issue.
He said that more than 51 people were martyred, hundreds of got injured by the BSF troopers in Bijehara on October 22, 1993, when the people of the area held a peaceful demonstration against the siege of Hazratbal shrine by Indian Army. 
“Our youth are courageously braving the oppression of Indian military forces just to achieve the scared goal of Azadi from India’s illegal occupation and we will not allow these sacrifices go waste.” Waza said
He said that the ongoing movement would be taken to its logical conclusion and appealed the international community, United Nations and world human rights watch groups to take a serious note of the human rights violations done by the security forces in the valley and to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations and relevant United Nation resolutions.
Waza said that resolution of Kashmir conflict according to wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people will guarantee the peace and prosperity of South Asian region.
Pro-Islam, Pro-freedom and Pro-Unity slogans were raised on the occasion.
