PEOPLES LEAGUE will observe martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz on 11th August

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has said that the first martyrdoom of Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz would be observed across Jammu Kashmir on August 11 (Tuesday) to pay homage to Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz. Sheikh Yaqoob reteirated that the first martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Shaikh Abdul Aziz would be marked with seminars, symposiums and conferences on August 11. He maintained that this is the historic day for us and we will remember Sheikh Abdul Aziz on this day and added that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a committed and dedicated pro-freedom leader whose sacrifice has given a new dimension to the ongoing Kashmir freedom struggle. "His mission shall be taken to the logical conclusion utterly," Yaqoob said. He urges people to massively participate in these seminars to pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs particularly who laid down their lives during last year's Amarnath Land Row. He said that the blood of martyrs would not go waste but would definitely bring positive results. He said that it was result of Kashmiri martyrs that today the Kashmir dispute had been discussed in international forums and the world community had taken keen interest in its solution.
The PL Chairman said that this Day will be observed also in international level like in Pakistan, Brussels, Canadia, Australia, etc to reaffirm Kashmiris resolve to continue their struggle against all odds.
Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob called upon the world community and international human rights organisations to put pressure on India to halt massive human rights violations in Kashmir and resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris. He said that the amicable solution to the Kashmir dispute was a must for bringing permanent peace in South Asia.
It is pertinent to mention that Sheikh Abdul Aziz achieved martyrdom on 11th August 2008 at Chayal Boniyar Uri, Baramulla while heading a peaceful protest march to smash away LOC (Bloody line) during on to Muzaffarabad (Muzaffarabad Chalo) in view of the economic blockade enforced on Kashmiris by Hindu fanatics of Jammu.
