Indian army secured license to kill Kashmiris: Waza

Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly denounced the killing of a civilian at Chewan Keller in Shopian and subsequent firing on peaceful protesters by Indian troops. "People here are facing the worst form of state terrorism and unprovoked firing on people is condemnable." Waza added. He pointed out that through such tactics, India would not be able to deter Kashmiris from continuing their peaceful liberation struggle. Waza maintained that it all happens due to unprecedented powers given to the troopers and draconian laws implemented here. “The troops have unleashed a reign of terror,” he added and demanded an immediate arrest of the guilty troopers.

Waza denounced the stepped up violations of human rights by Indian troops, and added that the peace and stability in South Asia could not prevail till the resolution of the dispute over Kashmir.
