PL leaders arrested by police in view of World Human Rights Day Demonstration

Jammu Kashmir peoples League staged a protest demonstration at Rajbagh Srinagar on the eve of World Human Rights Day. The protest demonstration was led by party Acting Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with Mohammad Ashraf Ved, Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Gh. Nabi Waseem, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Ashaq Hussain Naikoo, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, Shabir Ahmad Baba, Ashaq Hussain Khan and Shabir Ahmad besides other party activists. During his speech at Rajbagh Chowk to the Peoples League party cadre Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that India in the garb of culling armed resistance struggle has rendered innumerable human rights violations and it is enigmatic that in most of the cases naïveKkashmiris have been dubbed as foreign militants with an pointed reference of Pathribal Panchalthan of Islamabad where five innocent Kashmiris roasted alive. “Our chastity has been tarnished with a special reference of Kanunposhi pora, channapora of Srinagar bride of Kokernag at Hiller bridge, double murder and rape case of Shopian which need to be probed and guilty punished to justice,” Waza said, adds that human rights bodies like Amnesty International, Red Cross, Asia Watch, ICRC and others are urged to probe the cases of human rights violations in Kashmir along with citing of unmarked graves in the border areas of Naramulla, Kupwara and Poonch Rajori. Mukhtar Waza maintained that Kashmir has invited potential threat in south east region of Asia as India and Pakistan have ranged their weaponised missiles at each other, it is amicable solution of Kashmir which can guarantee perpetual peace in South Asia. Later on a heavy contingent of police and para-military forces arrested all the leaders and were lodged at police station Rajbagh Srinagar.
Meanwhile chairman JKPL Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob has strongly condemned the arrest of Peoples League leaders and activists and said that such cowardice acts will not deter kashmiris for achieving their cherished goal.
