PEOPLES LEAGUE PAID RICH TRIBUTES TO INNAYATULLAH KHANA AND AMAAN FAROOQ

A high level delegation of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League which includes Gh. Qadir Rah, Mohd Maqbool Sofi, Imtiyaz Reshi, Aftab Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad, Raouf Ahmad and other activists visited residences of Inayatullah Khan and Amaan Farooq (Malteng Dalgate and Habbakadal) and paid them rich tributes. Inayatullah khan was shot dead by CRPF when he was returning home after attending the coaching classes on Friday. He succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS, Srinagar. Peoples League prays peace to the departed soul of Innayatullah Khan and courage to the bereaved family and extended commiserations to his family members. Amaan Farooq - a photojournalist of a Srinagar-based Newspaper (G.K) was attacked by an Indian police officer when he was performing his professional duty at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Peoples League lauded the role of the journalists in keeping the world aware of the situation in the Kashmir even by putting their lives into danger. Indian troops every now and then subjected the journalists to brute force in an attempt to restrain them from performing their duty. They prayed for the early recovery of Amaan Farooq.

The delegation has said that India cannot suppress the ongoing liberation struggle of the people of Kashmir through use of brute force. They said that India had not fulfilled its promise to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination after 63 years. They said that the people had rendered unprecedented and countless sacrifices for securing their birthright. “They would continue their struggle till its logical conclusion,”

Peoples League appeals to the United Nations and other international human rights bodies to send their fact-finding missions to take stock of the human rights violations by Indian troops in Kashmir.
