LIBERATION STRUGGLE TO CARRY ON DESPITE ALL ODDS: PEOPLES LEAGUE

In continuation to door to door campaign Senior Hurriyat Leader and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on Saturday visited Bougund, Chawalgam of south Kashmir Kulgam District. While addressing an impressive gathering Waza reaffirmed the resolve of Kashmiri people to continue the struggle till the right to self-determination is achieved. Waza deplored that the United Nations had passed a resolution in 1949 but despite the passage of more than six decades the Kashmir dispute was still pending unresolved before the World Body. Mukhtar Waza urged to settle the Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions. “The resolution of the dispute was vital to the peace and stability in South Asia as it was a major cause of tension between Pakistan and India,” Waza said.

Mukhtar Waza denounces the attack on Greater Kashmir photojournalist Amaan Farooq. “The Kashmiri mediamen putting their life on stake to report truth in the region have been continuously targeted by the Indian armed forces”, and added, “The forces are using weapons to target the mediamen to restrict the truth from reaching to the common people.”, Waza said. He termed the attack as heinous and a barbarous act.

Senior Hurriyat leader also appeals to the international human rights organizations to send their representatives to the Kashmir to take cognizance of the miserable plight of the Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails and interrogation centers.

Meanwhile Peoples League condemns imposition of undeclared curfew in various parts of Srinagar city and paid glowing tributes to a 10th Class student Innayatullah Khan who was shot dead by CRPF when he was returning home after attending the coaching classes on Friday. He succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS, Srinagar.
