JKPL URGES INDIA TO CREATE FAVORABLE AMBIANCE

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Acting Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has urged India to create conducive atmosphere for resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions. The APHC Leader addressing a public gathering at KREMSU, Ashmuqam in Anantnag district after Friday congregation. Waza said that India should withdraw its troops, release all political prisoners, repeal draconian laws and stop human rights violations in the Kashmir, if it was sincere to hold talks. He maintained that New Delhi must understand that Kashmir was a political issue, which could not be resolved through so-called economic or administrative packages. Waza expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained profreedom leaders and activists in different jails of India. “The detainees have developed various ailments in the jails due to non-availability of proper food and medical facilities,” he added.
Waza has deplored that despite the passage of one year the occupation authorities had failed to bring the Indian troops involved in the rape and murder of two women to justice. He reiterated the pledge that the people would not take rest till the perpetrators of Shopian incident were not awarded exemplary punishment.
