JKPL greets President Obama’s avowal fixing Kashmir with UNSC seat

Senior APHC Leader and Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza greets President Barak Obama’s statement fixing Kashmir with UNSC seat. Mukhtar Ahmad Waza termed the US President Barack Obama’s statement linking Indian UN Security Council (UNSC) membership with Kashmir settlement as a significant break through. Mukhtar Ahmad Waza welcome the US President statement of pitching Kashmir settlement-for-seat; however he made it clear that Kashmiris will not accept settlement of the decades-old dispute contrary to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris.

“Go for a Kashmir solution and help bring stability to the region for a ticket to UN Security Council membership and fulfilling your big power aspirations. That’s the broad message President Barack Obama will be bringing to New Delhi during his upcoming November visit to India, preparation for which are in full swing in Washington DC.”

"The peace in the region is directly and indirectly related to resolution of Kashmir dispute. The stage has passed when India objected to US mediation in solving the Kashmir issue. The Obama administration has fully realized that the resolution of Kashmir issue is pivotal in bringing peace & prosperity to the region," Waza maintained.

Mukhtar Waza said that we are hopeful that Obama will fulfill his promise and responsibility. We hope that he will give practical shape to the statements he made regarding Kashmir during his election campaign.
